THE INTERPRETER: Germany has tried to dominate Europe for decades,Hitler tried in the second world war,but Russia put an end to that dream in Stalingrad,so in 1957 West Germany along with 5 other countries decided that Germany could dominate Europe without firing a shot by the "Treaty of Rome" and the EEC was born,it was to be a trading union not a political super state.
