Varoufakis Is Back and Set to Bring 'Democracy' Back to Europe : Made famous by his position as finance minister with the left-wing Syriza party in Greece, Yanis Varoufakis championed an alternative to austerity in an attempt to pull Greece out of debt. Yet after the failure of the Greek government to fight off further austerity demands from its creditors, the Troika, Varoufakis resigned.
